God placed this family in my life just a few years ago through a photo session and now they are one of the dearest to my heart. Knowing the battles that they have fought and won, where the broken and shattered road of heart-ache has brought them, all those prayers that we shared, it all came to the surface as I drove to meet them for this session. Opening your heart to all that you have been through to get you to where you are today, accepting the ugly with the beautiful, allowing all those hard fought days and nights to come to mind as you stand in golden light with your most treasured people around you, this is my hope for all clients to allow themselves to go there. If you allow yourself to feel and not to pose, then the camera and I may just reach out and hold still forever all those emotions right there in that moment. On this evening it happened. There were tears. There was laughter. And I felt it strong, right along with them.
Below are Breanna’s words she wanted to share about her family and this day:
“Andrew & I met in 2006, married in 2009. Our daughter Macie was born in November that same year. We were overjoyed! Two years later Andrew & I were ready to expand our family. We didn’t realize what kind of rollercoaster we were going to be on from that point. We went through multiple failed fertility treatments, 2 surgeries, and 2 miscarriages. I was entering a dark hole and I couldn’t get out. I felt broken, an inadequate wife and mother…and all around less than. Our marriage started to suffer, we were trying to hold it all together. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for the good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Oh how I tend to forget that God’s timing is always perfect!
In May 2013 my darling husband surprised me with a family session. It was then that I met my soul sister, Michelle. She randomly asked us if we wanted to have more children. I am usually not very forthcoming about my fertility struggles but I poured my heart out to her, a stranger at the time, about my longing to have a baby. She then told me her similar trials. She said, “God has a plan for you Breanna.” It was there that we became the best of friends.
In March 2014, after 3 years of heartache, we became pregnant with our sweet son Tucker. Our baby was born in November and our family has never felt so complete. Fast forward to today, Michelle took us to an apple orchard, corralled our children and took some breathtaking pictures. I cried the whole time. This session is full of God’s promises fulfilled, and His overwhelming love He has for His children. He knows just what we need before we even utter a word. Trials may come and go, but His love is everlasting. Our session was living proof of that! Thankful for Michelle who captures your emotions with each photo taken and pours her heart into her work. She is such a sweet soul and I will forever be thankful for her friendship.”
